A van driver has been paying what he thinks fuel is worth

The video is shot by the van driver using a smartphone and the video has the title ‘This is how you deal with the robbing fuel giants and the government.’

The video starts with the van driver showing the fuel pump which shows he has filled up with £131.99 of diesel.

He says: “So that’s how much they’re trying to charge me, I’ll show you how much I’m going to pay them.”

He then walks across the forecourt and up to the till to wait in the queue.

Once at the till, the van driver gives his pump number and lets the till operator know he’s recording.

The operator gives the amount that’s due, but the van driver says: “that’s all I’m paying for my fuel.”

He hands over what looks like two £50 notes and says it’s a ‘stand of defiance’ and that it isn’t illegal.

He even admits to having done it since fuel prices went up and that he hasn’t had any comeback.

The van driver says: “I’m not stealing your fuel, I’m paying what it’s worth.”

The till operator tries to point out that the forecourt cameras will catch him, but the van driver gives his registration over and invites them to report him.

The van driver calls it a ‘loophole’ and as he walks out says he’s paid the equivalent of £1.40 per litre for the fuel.

His last words to the camera are: “And that’s how you do it. F**k ’em.”

But people in the comments section on the video had little time for his antics.
