Van driver narrowly avoids plummeting from a bridge onto traffic below
A VAN driver escaped horrific injuries after being sideswiped by a car on a roundabout.
The incident happened above a motorway and everything was caught on a rear-facing dashcam.
The video was uploaded to TikTok by user @zacfensome and starts by showing two cars making their way around a roundabout on the inside lane.
A white van then comes into view travelling faster than the other two cars on the outside lane.
The van attempts to pass the two cars but at the last second the car at the back moves to exit down a sliproad.
The car smashes into the side of the van, which sends it hurtling towards the crash barrier on the outside.
It looks for a moment like the van will mount the barrier and flip over it onto the road below.
But it’s the van driver’s lucky day, because rather than fall over the edge the van slides along the barrier guided by its wheels.
The van driver is inches from falling over the edge, but instead ends up on their side on top of the barrier.
People couldn’t believe how lucky the van driver was and took to the comments below the TikTok video.
One said: “Poor bloke all because he tried to avoid that other car side swiping him.”
Another said: “That passenger in that van must have had a birds-eye view of a near-death experience.”
A third commented: “Man used all his luck that day to stop going over the edge.”
While lots of people likened the van to a skateboard, with one saying: “Tony Hawk would be proud of that rail grind.”
And another commented: “Damn the new Tony Hawk game looks awesome>”
