Van driver forgets to strap down roof ladders on a motorway causing chaos
A VAN driver has caused chaos on a 70mph road after making a simple mistake.
The video, uploaded to TikTok on the caughtukdashcam channel, it a reminder of why it is extremely important to check roof ladders are properly strapped down.
As the TikTok channel’s name suggests, the video is shot using a dash cam in a car.
It starts on a dual carriageway and in front you can make out a Skoda Karoq SUV making its way along the inside lane.
A few seconds into the video a Ford Transit appears in the outside lane, and it’s travelling quite a bit faster than the camera car and Skoda.
The Transit has a roof rack attached with what looks alike two ladders strapped to it.
However, not long after passing the Skoda, the ladders begin to come loose and are blown up into the air.
They then smash onto the road and debris is seen going everywhere.
The Skoda tried to swerve but runs over part of one of the ladders and what looks to be a length of fascia board placed on top.
The camera car then has to swerve to miss the jettisoned debris too.
It all happens next to a section of slip road joining the dual carriageway, so the Skoda driver pulls over to check for damage.
So too does the camera car, but not so the van.
The van driver is oblivious to what has happened and simply disappears off up the road.
People praised the reactions of the Skoda driver in the comments.
wildeff said: “That silver car driver did so well to regain control and pull over! I would have had a straight up heart attack ????”
While others think the van driver knew exactly what happened.
