Valorant Episode 4 Act 1: Major Breeze and Bind Rework, Weapon Balancing, and Other Important Changes in the Patch Notes
Riot Games recently revealed the official patch notes for Episode 4 Act 1: Disruption, which will release on January 12. Fans have a lot of excitement for the upcoming Act, especially because of the game’s new Agent in the Manila-based, Neon who possesses electric abilities.
As far as the weapon update goes, Melees have been buffed a lot as the developers have increased the size of the right click hitboxes by 1.5 times. Additionally, the left click hitboxes will have a larger size than that of the right click ones while also having a longer range.
Regarding the guns, the Ares will also receive a buff with the fire rate increasing from 10 to 13. Moreover, the Guardian won’t have a firing rate penalty on ADS, plus, it will also have an extra bullet before it becomes unstable while firing, which makes it much more proficient to use in fights.
The Bulldog has also received an upgrade as well, with the hip fire rate increasing from 9.5 to 10. The recovery on burst fire will also be improve from 0.4 to 0.35, which makes it more efficient.
However, the overpowering Spectre will be the only getting a downgrade because of its prowess in long-range fights. The developers at Riot Games announced that it has increased the weapon’s pitch and yaw recoil multipliers while also changing the firing error to arrive at an earlier bullet stage. This should decrease the problem of the weapon over-performing while spraying.
Episode 4 Act 1: Disruption will also bring forth changes to maps like Bind and Breeze. Bind has one major change at Short A as the developers have tweaked the double stack of cover at A. Plus, there’s also a new bench to take a peek as well, and these modifications should make attacking A much easier.
In Breeze, the width of the A main choke has increased, and Riot Games has also removed the 50/50 chances that players would have to take by peeking at one of two locations while attacking. The cave will also have a stack of two crates, which will provide cover for the attackers. Plus, there are other minor changes as well, which should help the defenders.
At the B site, the pillar will contain some cover for new pre and post plant opportunities. The back site will also be covered with a wall which will come in handy while falling back and retaking the site. Finally, the B wall will also receive a stack of crates which will limit some angles from B to give new cover options to players.
In the end, it will be interesting to see how the crowd reacts to these monumental changes as the developers try to balance the game, and only time will tell how the players feel about these tweaks.
