Vaani Kapoor has opened up about her next film, Shamshera and her co-star, Ranbir Kapoor. The actress said that Shamshera reminded her of the popular Sanjay Dutt film Khalnayak and that Ranbir Kapoor would surprise everyone with this film. Vaani Kapoor also spoke about working with Agneepath director Karan Malhotra and said that the filmmaker knows how to push each emotion.
“We have grown up watching films like Khalanayak and a few others. It (Shamshera) gave me a sense of that. It is a cool film and it is so different. I love Karan Malhotra’s Agneepath. He knows how much to push each emotion. To be part of a film which is like that and coming from a filmmaker like Karan was icing on the cake,” Vaani told PTI.
“The setting of the film is very different. Ranbir has a different look and character in the film. He has pulled it off and how. He will surprise you with this film,” she further said about Ranbir Kapoor. The actress also said that her character in Shamshera has a “cool evolution”. “The way Karan has mounted her is different. There is a lot of substance and charisma about her. It is a dream character,” she said.
Vaani was last seen in the recently released film, Bell Bottom. The film is the first big-budget movie to hit theatres since Roohi. Bell Bottom reportedly made around INR 8.35 crores on its first weekend. The box office numbers were severely impacted considering that the film could not release in Maharashtra and other places where theatres are shut.
