Users reporting issues accessing Microsoft Outlook and receiving error message

USERS are reporting issues accessing their Microsoft Outlook accounts.

Reports arose on Monday morning just before 10.30am ET, according to Downdetector, and started to drop over an hour later.

“Outlook on the Web not working,” one user wrote.

When trying to access the email site, an error message appears.

“Service Unavailable,” it says, followed by: “HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable.”

Microsoft told The U.S. Sun in a statement: “We have resolved an issue preventing users from accessing some of our services.”

    The Outlook issue appears to have been fixed by the Microsoft 365 team.

    Reports rapidly dropped and users said that they could access their emails again.

    Microsoft has revealed it is trying a new technique to see if issues resolve.

    “We’ve halted an ongoing deployment and are monitoring services to see if that provides relief to the environment,” the company said in an update on Twitter.

    In a statement, Microsoft said: “We’ve identified downstream impact for Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.

    “We’re providing full impact details and updates for those services via MO571683. Updates pertaining to Exchange and Outlook on the web will continue to be provided via EX571516.”

    One user all the way in the Philippines has reported an issue with Outlook.

    “outlook down here in Philippines to,” they said.

  • Issues spread to Canada

    Users in Canada have also been reporting issues with Outlook.

    According to Downdetector, over 500 users were having issues with Microsoft 365.

  • User says they can see the emails, but can’t open them

    “Outlook back again. Long Island, New York … well, sort of … I can SEE the emails, but, can’t open them!!” one user wrote.

    However, some users are still reporting a full outage.
