UPSC 2022: UPSC launched OTR platform for the submission of applications – Times of India

Union Public Service Commission has launched OTR platform for UPSC Exam 2022. One Time Registration, OTR has been started for candidates to submit applications for various examinations conducted by the Commission at upsc.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in.
This new platform is for all those candidates who will save their time by re-filling their basic personal details for any subsequent examination to be conducted by UPSC. All these details will be verified by the candidates themselves.
All those candidates who wish to apply for UPSC exam in future are required to register themselves in OTR platform by filling their basic personal information. Once the registration is complete, the information of the candidates will be stored securely in the servers of the Information Commission. The candidate’s information will be auto-populated in the online application form of the examination for which he/she would like to apply.

By giving this new platform to the candidates, the Commission has advised to read the OTR instructions in the notice and fill the information in the OTR with utmost care to avoid any complication in future.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is the government agency responsible for the recruitment of officers in the civil services of the country. It conducts the exam and selects the candidates on the basis of pre-selected criteria. Civil services include services like IAS, IFS, IPS, IRS etc.
Apart from civil services, UPSC also conducts many other examinations. Some examples are Engineering Services Examination, Combined Medical Services Examination, Indian Forest Service Examination, Combined Defense Services Examination, Indian Statistical Service etc. Candidates must know that the preliminary examination of Civil Services and Indian Forest Service is the same. While applying for prelims, candidates must state whether they are appearing for both the exams or only one of them.
