LUCKNOW: Governor Anandiben Patel advised the trainee PCS officers to work for the needs of the poor on a priority basis.
Interacting with the 41 trainees of PCS (executive branch) 2020 batch, Patel asked them to dispose off the petitions and complaints received at the earliest so that the complainant is benefited in the shortest possible time.
Sharing her experiences of the importance of public relations, the governor asked the trainee officers to use their powers judiciously in solving people’s problems. “Only when you interact with the public and know their problems, you get the power to solve them,” she said.
She asked them to work according to the government policies. “But if any public interest work is beyond the policy, then its details and requirements should be communicated to the senior authorities so that a policy can be framed to carry out that work,” Patel said, adding that the officers should try their level best not disappoint people.
The governor also shared her experiences of the problems and complications of rural life. She encouraged the trainee officers to carry out the responsibility of extending the benefits of government schemes to remote rural areas during their tenure.
“Work honestly. Focus on the various problems of the residents of the border areas of the state. Be clear of what you speak and ensure that you provide correct information and work with a sense of service,” the governor told the officers.
