UP Board 2023 Result: 90% in class 10 and 75% in 12th declared pass – Times of India

PRAYAGRAJ: Girls continued to outshine boys in the High School and Intermediate examinations, results of which were announced by the director UP Secondary Education, Mahendra Dev here on Tuesday. The overall pass percentage of class 10 was 89.78% whereas that of class 12, the pass percentage was 75.52%.
Results of both class 10 and 12 were announced simultaneously on Tuesday by the board officials.
This is for the first time, in the last around 100 years, that the Board has announced the results, and that too both of class 10 and 12, in a record time. This year’s exams for both class 10th and 12th, which commenced on February 16, ended on the same date i.e. March 4 and evaluation of answer sheets was completed on March 31.
This year, a total of 58,84,634 candidates have registered for the board exams of class 10 and 12. Of these, a total of 31,16,454 students had registered for class 10 exams and 27, 68, 180 were registered for class 12.
In class 10, 28,63,621 had appeared and 25,70,987 were declared successful. The passing percentage of class 10 was 89.78%.
In class 12, 25,71,002 had appeared and 19,41,717 were declared successful. The passing percentage of class 12 was 75.52%.
Detailing the results for class 10, the director said that this year, Priyanshi Soni of Sita Bal Vidya Mandir Inter College, Mahmudabad, Sitapur has topped 10 board exams securing 98.33% marks. She scored 590 out of 600.
The second place was shared by Kushagra Pandey of Arya Bhatt Vidya Mandir highschool, Mangalapur, Kanpur Dehat and Mishkat Noor of Canossa Convent Girls Inter college, Ayodhya. Both the students have scored 97.83% marks which is 587 out of 600. At the third place is three students, Krishna Jha of BKGS Inter college, Parkhan, Mathura, Arpit Gangwar of SVMIC Bisalpur, Pilibhit and Shreyshi Singh of Raj Montessor Inter College, Semari, Sultanpur. All these three students have scored 97.67% marks which is 586 out of the grand total of 600.
In terms of class 12th result, Shubh Chapra of Saraswati Vidya Mandir Inter College, Charkhari, Mahoba topped the exam by scoring 97.80%. He scored 489 out of the grand total of 500 marks. In the second place are two students, Saurabh Gangwar of SVMIC Bisalpur, Pilibhit and Anamika of CHS Singh Inter College Jaswant Nagar Etawah have shared the overall merit list by scoring 97.20% marks.
The third rank is shared between three students which are Priyanshu Upadhyay of SBMIC Raghuvanshpuram, Fatehpur, Khushi of SSIC, Mustafapur Husenganj, Fatehpur and Supriya of SPRIC Bansi Siddharth Nagar. All these three students have scored 97% marks. The fourth position is shared by five students including Shiva of Etawah, Piyush Tomar of Kannauj, Subhashna of Prayagraj, Bikram Singh of Fatehpur and Nikhil Tiwari of Fatehpur.
