As the final day of the WTC 2023 Final approaches closer, all eyes will be on Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane to take Team India towards their next ICC trophy. Team India fans will have special expectations from Virat Kohli who is known to take India towards wonderful victories. In an interaction posted by ICC, Virat Kohli shared his struggle for the last two years and how he rose from the ashes. Virat Kohli also made special mention of former skipper MS Dhoni.
“I am very happy. I am in a very happy phase. A lot happened over the last couple of years. Lots of stuff off the field, more than on the field. Stuff that over a long period of time in a long career tends to happen. Mostly with everyone. Complications of playing the sport for a long period of time. But, I feel I am playing my best cricket again, over formats. And, I am just enjoying being out there with the bat in my hand and doing the job for the team,” Virat Kohli said.
Proud to play for Team India
Virat Kohli shared that he loves to do the job for Team India and was proud to play under different captaincies.
“I love to do the job for the team. It’s something I’ve taken a lot of pride in, firstly under MS Dhoni’s captaincy then my own captaincy, and now under Rohit Sharma. The fact that I am getting to enjoy the game all over again and not have that extra baggage on me is making me really excited and happy,” Virat Kohli added.
Virat Kohli is known to play the role of saviour in tough times and Team India fans remember his 141-run innings against Australia in Adelaide in 2014, 105 versus New Zealand in Wellington in the same year, and 104 against Sri Lanka in Kolkata in 2017.
