Uncharted Director Amy Hennig Gets Her Second Shot at Developing an Action-Adventure Star Wars Game

The Star Wars franchise continues to expand in the video games front with more titles, and the latest one takes the cake for the most pre-release hype, as its development will involve Uncharted creative director, Amy Hennig.

The project was announced quite recently in a press release from Lucasfilms and Skydance New Media, the new gaming studio, where Hennig serves as the company’s President.

According to the press release, Hennig will be in her natural habitat when it comes to developing games, as the project will be a “narrative-driven, action-adventure game featuring an original story in the Star Wars galaxy.”

This is the second major project helmed by the company, as it was earlier announced that Skydance New Media will also be developing a AAA Marvel title, which will be “a completely original story and take on the Marvel Universe.”

Following her work at Naughty Dog on the Uncharted series, Hennig joined EA, where she began development for a Star Wars title. However, work on the game was shelved, following Hennig’s departure from the company in 2018.

However, with Hennig getting a second chance with the franchise’s expansive lore, fans are excited to see what she can bring to the table in terms of storytelling. While Uncharted provided fans with explosive fun, it also include a deep storyline that many players enjoyed experiencing, and similarly, while Star Wars has its fair share of cool gizmos like the light saber fights, it’s the personal storylines in that massive galaxy that players have found most appealing, and Hennig seems to be the perfect choice for the series’ fanatics.

With Skydance New Media handling projects involving two major IPs, Hennig will be at the center of the gaming world, as fans will be quite hopeful to see her deliver intriguing stories that they have come to expect from her over the years.
