Ultra-rare Bugatti that has never been out in the rain is selling for a FORTUNE

AN ULTRA-RARE Bugatti that has never been out in the rain is set to sell for an eye-watering price.

The two-tone blue Chiron model has covered only 3,417 miles since it left the factory in 2020 – and is up for sale at a whopping £2.5million.

Under the bonnet, the Chiron is powered by its quad-turbocharged 8.0-litre W16 engine, generating an incredible 1,500hp and 1,600Nm of torque.

Thanks to this ultra-powerful petrol engine, the Chiron has a limited top speed of 261mph, although a Super Sport version has clipped past 300mph on special test runs.

The 0-62mph time is quoted at 2.4 seconds, but it’s the hypercar’s ability to keep going so quickly in a straight line that’s even more impressive: 0-186mph in a claimed 13.6 seconds is just mind blowing.

Bonhams auction house – which is handling the sale – says that this example is one of just 500 Bugatti Chiron models produced.

A spokesperson from Bonhams said: “It’s almost as though Bugatti wanted to say goodbye to the internal combustion engine era at the very top of the supercar tree.

“There will never be cars like these again.”

When Bugatti created the Chiron, their aim was to better the Veyron in every respect and create the world’s fastest, most exclusive and most expensive production car.

Structurally, the Chiron kept to the formula established with the Veyron, boasting a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis/body and independent suspension, incorporating adaptive dampers.

The seller of this particular car visited Bugatti’s factory in Molsheim to choose its specifications in 2017 – and received the car in 2020.

The car includes a copy of the contract between the carmaker and the current vendor, revealing that the car cost €2,602,000 (£2,237,708).

Car enthusiasts have until the 18th of June to make a bid.

This comes after a classic Ford Escort McRae rally car was up for auction and set to go for an eye-watering price.

Plus, a stunning Ford Escort RS Mexico is up for sale at auction – and it could be more affordable than you might think.
