Ukrainian actor and TV host Pasha Lee has been killed aged 33 under shelling as Russian forces occupied Irpin, the city located just west of Kyiv.

Lee joined the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine last week to defend his country from Russian attacks which have been on going since February 24.

The actor had been sharing pictures of himself in military uniform on social media.

On Saturday, Lee shared a post on his Instagram page which translated as: ‘For the last 48 hours there is an opportunity to sit down and take a picture of how we are being bombed, and we are smiling because we will manage and everything will be UKRAINE ???????? WE ARE WORKING !!!’

Another image was captioned: ‘Let’s unite!’

Lee starred in the 1019 comedy Meeting of Classmates, 2017 sport action movie The Fight Rules and was also a presenter on the DOM channel.

According to a Facebook post by Sergiy Tomilenko, President of Ukraine’s National Union of Journalists, he also did dubbing work on films including The Lion King and The Hobbit.

One of his final projects was the 2021 TV drama Provincial.

His Provincial co-star Anastasiya Kasilova paid tribute to the actor on Facebook, writing: ‘He is an actor, TV presenter, my colleague and a good acquaintance… Never forgive!’

On Sunday March 6, it was reported at least eight civilians were killed in an attack on Irpin on Sunday, while the city had been cut off from electricity, water and eating for three days.

The victims included two children from the same family, according to Irpin mayor Oleksandr Markushyn.
