UK weather forecast: Sunny but cold day ahead with frost expected tonight
The weather is turning noticeably colder as we draw nearer to winter, meaning many of us are probably reaching to turn the heating on.
Here’s the forecast for Thursday, November 4 – you may want to get your warm jumpers out.
The Met Office is predicting showers in some southwestern and southeastern coastal areas, but these will tend to ease.

Despite this rain, many areas will remain dry but chilly with some sunshine. There is a forecast for wind in some eastern coastal areas and rain in far north later.

What is the UK weather forecast?
Morning
Showers are predicted in the early hours of Thursday morning in northern and eastern areas, as well as in West Wales, Cornwall and Northern Ireland.
Temperatures will be near freezing in Scotland at 2 degrees, slightly warmer in Northern Ireland at 6 degrees and an equally cool 5 degrees in northern areas.
The midlands will feel a temperature of around 3 degrees and Wales will feel the same. The southeast will see 7 degrees and the southwest will feel degrees less at 6 degrees.
Afternoon
Coastal fringes will see the concentration of showers in the afternoon with most of the inland remaining dry with long spells of sunshine. Frost is predicted in these areas.
It will still feel cold but temperatures will slightly elevate with 8 degrees in Scotland, 10 degrees in Northern Ireland, 9 degrees in the north of England, 8 degrees in the midlands and 10 degrees in the south.
Evening
Northwest Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland will see some cloud.
A frosty night to come so it could be a good time to get your hats, scarves and gloves out as the weather turns chilly.
