UK airport that has a beer garden right next to the runway
AN AIRPORT in the UK has a beer garden right next to its runway – but you don’t have to be a passenger to go.
The Airport Pub in Manchester lies just 50 feet (15 metres) from Manchester Airport’s runway.
Because the pub isn’t inside the airport terminal, customers don’t need to be jetting off on holiday to visit.
According to Secret Manchester, the pub has both indoor and outdoor seating with both offering views of the runway.
Aviation-inspired decoration runs throughout the pub including metal panelling, booths in the shape of turbine engines and ceiling fans made to look like the wings of a plane.
Meanwhile, the outside beer garden is littered with wooden picnic benches that directly overlook the runway.
There’s also a children’s play area and bouncy castle to keep younger visitors entertained.
Mains start from £11.00 and include traditional pub classics like burgers, pizzas, and fish and chips.
There’s also a fully-stocked bar too with a range of drinks.
Brits who want to visit the unique pub just need to park their car at the pub car park.
The pub has a 3.5/5 star rating on TripAdvisor from 1,798 reviews.
One person wrote: “We called in for a couple of drinks the day before our holiday. The weather was pleasant enough, so we sat outside and had an excellent view of the plane’s landing.”
Someone else said: “Took the kids to the Airport Pub and it was a great day out.
There’s plenty for the kids to do, so they don’t get bored. You’re right next to the runway too and get to see planes taking off and landing every two minutes.”
While a third added: “Absolutely love coming to this pub as the service, food, and location are all superb.
“The only downside is how far away I live, otherwise I’d be here all the time.”
Meanwhile, another top UK airport has its very own secret flight deck that both kids and adults will love.
City Airport in Manchester has its very own flight simulator where visitors can attempt to land a plane.
And there are lots of other exciting new attractions opening in the UK.
A huge £250million waterpark and spa is opening in Manchester in the next few years, with 35 slides and its own indoor beach.
And this summer, a UK attraction is reopening this summer without any rides or rollercoasters – but parents say their kids love it.
