Tyson Fury reveals diet regime for Deontay Wilder fight including gallon of water a day

Tyson Fury has revealed his strict diet regime as he prepares for his trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas this Saturday. The pair boxed to a controversial draw in December 2018, only for the ‘Gypsy King’ to win convincingly 14 months later by stopping the American in the seventh round.

The WBC and The Ring heavyweight champion is the overwhelming favourite to prevail again this time around, and sure enough, Fury has warned his opponent he will be “30 to 40%” better than their last bout.

This clash was originally due to take place in September but was delayed after Fury tested positive for Covid-19, but now the British fighter is fully recovered and claimed to have “trained for this one like Rocky in the movie.”

And Fury, 33, has also claimed that drinking copious amounts of water to combat the searing heat in Nevada have formed an integral part of his preparation.

In an interview with MailOnline, he said: “No man could have done more. The toughest possible sparring. Eating nothing but the best foods — vegetables, fruits, fish, meats, vitamins, minerals.”

Fury however, has admitted he is taking stringent precautions while out in America. Those involved in his training camp have separated into two two houses, and have been careful not to come into contact with nearby residents.

“We also keep the bubble secure by having the gym under lock and key with nobody else allowed in while we’re there,” explained Fury.

There has been no shortage of bad blood in 2021 between Fury and Wilder, 34, with the American taking legal action to ensure their trilogy fight went ahead whilst Fury was trying to negotiate a bout with Anthony Joshua.

The ‘Bronze Bomber’ has also accused the British fighter of cheating last time out by inserting ‘egg-shaped’ objects into his gloves, and has stoked the fires further by saying he expects more underhand tactics this time around.
