Tyson Fury gives emphatic answer to fighting Anthony Joshua
Tyson Fury has insisted he has ‘zero’ interest in fighting Anthony Joshua after brutally defeating Derek Chisora. The self-styled Gypsy King left Chisora bloodied and bruised at the end of 10 punishing rounds to defend his WBC world heavyweight title.
The victory appears to have set up a mouthwatering fight between Fury and unified champion Oleksandr Usyk for all the heavyweight titles. Ukrainian pound-for-pound star Usyk was ringside to watch Fury up close and was involved in an intense star down with him as the Brit screamed insults in his face.
Fury made it clear he wants the fight with Usyk next and would be prepared to face Joe Joyce at Wembley if a deal couldn’t be struck. Before agreeing to fight Chisora, Fury had entered talks to finally fight Anthony Joshua in a long-awaited grudge match but talks collapsed.
Now, Fury has dismissed the chance of the Battle of Britain ever happening. Asked if he has any interest in facing AJ, Fury said: “Nadda. Zero. I want to fight with real men and real challengers who want to fight. Usyk wants to fight. He got in my face and wants to fight.

Fury also claimed that a fight with fellow unbeaten Brit Joyce would present a tougher challenge than Usyk, who has comprehensively beaten Joshua twice.
He added: “I’m willing to take on Oleksandr Usyk next, I don’t know whether it’s going to be in Saudi Arabia or back here but both would be great. Let’s just give the fans the big fight they want and one champion and one face.
“Sometimes these fights don’t happen, Bob Arum will tell you but I have a good feeling about this one.
“In my opinion, Usyk is a slicker boxer but Joe Joyce is the juggernaut and I think he gives me a much harder fight. I think Usyk is a very good fighter, he’s the undisputed cruiserweight champion and he’s the unified heavyweight champion so he’s had a good career. But the hardest fight out there for me is Joe Joyce.”
