Two-week leadership training for newly promoted principals concluded at DIET Panchkula – Times of India

PANCHKULA: The two-week Capacity building Leadership Training for Newly Promoted Principals of Panchkula, Ambala and Yamunanagar organized by the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Panchkula concluded on Wednesday.
The training, which was specially organized for the newly promoted principals of these three districts was conducted by the faculty members/trainers of the DIET Panchkula under the aegis of State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Gurugram.
During this period of training from November 30 to December 14, a total of 60 sessions of training were conducted by the specialists. The training included special sessions on Service Rules, Leadership, Non-Violent Communication, School and community, Innovation in Schools, Team Building, Teachers Issues and Mentoring and Monitoring. The trainees were also taken to some schools of Morni Hills to give them some practical exposure.
Education minister Kanwar Pal was chief guest at the closing ceremony on Wednesday. In his brief address to the trainees, the minister said that they should focus more on the students from the rural areas and deprived strata of the society.
The minister said that the teachers serving in the state of Haryana are one of the most competent staff and if they get good leaders to guide, the parents would prefer to send their wards into the government schools, instead of private schools. Further claiming that the education department is the best institution to serve the society, he appealed to the newly promoted principals to devote their time to enhance the efficiency of its staff through motivation and other methods. He also released the Newsletter of DIET Panchkula highlighting the activities carried out by the institute. M S Sindhu, principal DIET also spoke on the occasion and asked the trainees to utilise the knowledge gained by them during these 15-days.
Swami Dr Amrita, who was a special guest on this occasion, spoke on stress management and motivation. District Education Officer (DEO) and District Elementary Education Officer (DEEO) and the District Project Coordinator Panchkula were also present on this occasion.
