Two Jamshedpur colleges spar over power, water dues – Times of India

Jamshedpur: The Jamshedpur Cooperative College has accused the Jamshedpur Cooperative Law College, which shares the same premises, of not paying its electricity and water dues. Both the colleges are affiliated to Kolhan University.
Principal of the Cooperative College, Amar Singh, has shot off a letter to the top brass of the university pointing out that not only the college is paying the electricity and water bills of the law college, it is also paying for its teaching staff.
The incharge principal of the law college, Jitendra Kumar, said they are just using two rooms on the campus and so their electricity and water consumption is very low. Reacting to this, Singh said why isn’t the law college paying its dues. Spokesperson of Kolhan University PK Pani said since the law college is a unit of Cooperative College, the payment of staff and other expenditure of the law college is being done from the same account (Cooperative College).
Sources said the Jamshedpur Cooperative College, which is likely to get the status of a deemed university in a few months, has pointed out that the admission and other fees collected from the law students are not being deposited in the account of the degree college and are being used independently by the law college, which is a bone of contention between the two institutions.
