Two-goal Trossard helps Gunners topple Barcelona
The Belgian international netted twice against the Spanish giants, with Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Fabio Vieira also on target.
And Trossard was delighted to end the trip on such a high note.
“We wanted to end on a positive note and I think we’ve done that against one of the biggest clubs in the world, so we’re really happy with the win,” he told arsenal.com.
“We want to prepare in the best possible way and I think we were on the right track and we want to keep going.
“It’s been an amazing 10 days and we’re happy with that and now we can go back to London.”
Robert Lewandowski put Barca in front after just seven minutes at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, but Saka levelled and then missed a penalty after a Trossard shot hit a defender’s arm.
Raphinha’s deflected free-kick restored Barca’s lead but Havertz prodded home at the far post from Martin Odegaard’s header to square matters for a second time before the interval.
Havertz made way for Emile Smith Rowe and Arsenal took the lead when Gabriel Jesus chested a long pass into the path of Trossard, who sent an angled shot inside the far post.
Ousmane Dembele hit a post before Trossard converted a cross from substitute Kieran Tierney, with Alejandro Balde hitting the woodwork before Ferran Torres answered with a third for the La Liga club.
Vieira capped a fine win for the Gunners when firing into the top corner late on and Trossard felt they could have had more.
“Yeah, of course, but we scored a lot already and I think we must be happy with that,” he added.
“We had some nice goals as well and let’s enjoy it.”
Arsenal returned to London after the match and will take on AS Monaco in the Emirates Cup on Wednesday (August 2) and Trossard cannot wait.
“Really excited to be honest,” he said.
“We know what they can bring for us in the stadium and we’re looking forward to it.”
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta hailed the performance of Trossard, adding: “It’s great to see him score, he’s been working so hard.
“He came in a really good condition for pre-season and he’s a player that gives us something very different to the wingers that we have.
“He’s got incredible versatility and predictability to play in the positions. It’s great and will be good for his confidence, that’s for sure.”
