Twitter Edit button rolling out in the US, will allow you to modify tweet up to 5 times – Times of India
The Verge claims that Joseph Nuñez, a spokesperson from the micro-blogging website told the publication in an email that Twitter Blue subscribers in the US will now get the ability to edit their tweets. It is to be noted that a tweet can only be edited up to five times and only 30 minutes after the user has posted it.
Additionally, once a user has made changes to a tweet, it will have a little pencil icon suggesting that the tweet has been altered. You can access the edit history and you won’t need a Twitter Blue account for that.
Earlier this year, the microblogging website showcased how an edited tweet would look and also showed how the feature would actually work. The company edited its own tweet and it showed ‘Last Edited’ at the bottom of the tweet. It is to be noted that both the original and the edited tweet will have the same ID but the original tweet will have a different URL with “/history” added to it.
Furthemore, each edit made in the tweet will be listed one below the other and the engagement for each version of the tweet will also be displayed.
Edit Tweet button not available in India
Users in India will not get the Edit Tweet button because it is only being rolled out for Twitter Blue subscribers and this subscription model is not available in India. Twitter Blue is an opt-in, paid monthly subscription that also offers other exclusive access to premium features such as the undo tweets.
