In the stress-inducing culinary drama The Bear, Jeremy Allen White’s Carmy returns with his crew of chefs to open a whole new spot in hopes of earning a Michelin star. The show delves deeper than ever into the Berzatto family’s trauma and infuses it into some great sequences.
Secret Invasion
Secret Invasion marked the return of Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury. The show follows him as he goes up against a widespread Skrull invasion. While the show opened to middling reviews, Jackson garnered praise. The show was also trending for not-so-good reasons as the makers used AI for its opening sequence art.
Black Mirror Season 6
The sci-fi anthology Black Mirror returned for a sixth Instalment. This time around, the show was a mixed bag with some shorts leaning into the supernatural category. Episodes like Joan Is Awful led by Annie Murphy and Salman Hayek and Loch Henry starring Samuel Blenkin and Myhala Herrold) stood out.
Never Have I Ever Season 4
The wildly popular high-school drama Never Have I Ever got its fourth and final season in June 2023. Maitreyi Ramakrishnan reprised her role as Devi in a fun set of episodes that saw the characters gearing up for college in their senior year.
The Idol
The Idol starring Lily Rose-Depp, The Weeknd and Blackpink’s Jennie landed in controversy long before its release. The show helmed by Euphoria creator Sam Levinson garnered flak for disturbing scenes and excessive use of sexual content. After its release, the show’s original concept surfaced online and it only highlighted how much Levinson’s involvement backfired.
