With the phenomenal success of hit programmes like Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo, Yeh Meri Family season 2, and Dahaad in May, the June OTT release schedule was expected to be just as thrilling. The exciting roster featured gems like the eagerly anticipated Hansal Mehta-directed Scoop and the much awaited series Asur 2. Here are the trending web- series from the month of June 2023:

Asur 2

Asur 2 retired in June  following the popular season 1. It is a mythological mystery criminal drama series. The first season was released in 2020 and received favourably by the audience. The story follows a group of forensic investigators as they hunt down a serial killer who believes he is the asura Kali’s reincarnation. Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti play the key characters.

Taj: Reign Of Revenge Season 2

The first season, which was released in March 2023, was well received by the audience for its truthfulness to the story. The first season diligently showcased the origin story and set the premise of an ageing Mughal emperor Akbar (Naseeruddin Shah) searching for a deserving successor to the takht of his sultanate. Now, the second season delves deeply into the interpersonal dynamics and politics at play, not only among the members of the royal family but also among the emperor’s advisers and queens.

Scoop

Hansal Mehta is the creator of this crime drama series.  It features Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Harman Baweja, and Karishma Tanna. Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison, written by Jigna Vora, serves as the basis for the television series. It is based on the true account of Jigna Vora, who in June 2011 was charged with killing reporter Jyotirmoy Dey.

School Of Lies

This mystery-thriller series tells the tale of a 12-year-old boy who vanishes from a private boarding school and the chain of events that follow because the truth can only be as complicated as it is straightforward.

Badtameez Dil

This romantic series features Barun Sobti and Rishi Dogra.Despite having different views on romance, a man who believes in modern dating and a lady who believes in the old-fashioned charm of romance end up falling in love in this sweet and heartfelt show.

The Night Manager Part 2

The Night Manager’s second chapter was released last month. The show is a remake of the same-named British series. The first season of the Indian remake debuted in February 2023. Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Anil Kapoor play the leading roles. The story in the second part  follows Shaan Sengupta as he assumes a new identity, succeeds BJ as Shailendra Rungta’s CEO, and executes his strategy to bring down the ruthless arms dealer. When Shelly assumes control to protect his empire, there are more keys to the plot and impending dangers.
