A weary traveller has taken to Reddit to share how they told off a very loud woman they were stuck near on a plane on behalf of a fellow passenger.

The poster, who shared the story in the group r/AmItheA**hole, wrote that someone sitting rows behind them on a flight was ‘screaming’ about mundane things the whole time.

They were so loud, that they could be heart through the poster’s earplugs.

By the end of the flight, the poster had had enough.

This person, who was typing from the airport not long after the incident took place, wrote: ‘The lady two seats behind me on the flight was talked extremely loud the entire flight. I had earplugs in and it was piercing my ears.

‘After the flight landed the lady across the aisle from me looked terrified and said they’re on her next flight.

‘I got up and walked back and said, “You guys are flying to Florida next right? You may want to consider being a little more quiet on your next flight. I had earplugs in and could hear you screaming the entire time.”’

The loud woman’s partner didn’t take too kindly to that.

‘I turn back around and her boyfriend calls me an a**hole,’ the poster, who shared no personal details about themselves, went on.

‘So I turned back and asked what he said. He told me I was an a**hole. Then the girl chimes in and said, “We weren’t even talking loud.”

‘I show them the earplugs in my hand and said, “I had earplugs in my ears two seats ahead of you, and I heard all about Franks’s wedding, your nail appointment, feeding your dogs, your cellphone bill, [and] the TV shows your mom watches.”‘

The post ends with the person asking the forum whether the boyfriend’s insult was right after all, but people in the comments are on the poster’s side.

The top comment reads: ‘If you could hear them from two seats back even without earplugs they’re definitely talking way too loud.’

‘She is not a toddler, she should know what indoor voice is,’ reads another.

Somebody else commented: ‘I love that you came with the receipts to prove they were too loud.’
