Transfer news: Man Utd eye 30-year-old, Liverpool trigger clause, Chelsea deals
While Arsenal supporters are rightfully starting to get excited about this summer transfer business, Express Sport understands there are still minor issues to resolve before Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber are Gunners players.
Rather boringly, Arsenal and West Ham are yet to finalise payment terms despite verbally agreeing a £105m package for the England defensive midfielder.
The deal is now on the home stretch but the clubs need to agree a payment plan for Rice before he is given permission to undergo a medical and put the finishing touches on the move.
Manchester City are out of the race so the transfer isn’t at risk right now. It should finally be signed off in the coming days.
As for Timber, the deal is also nearing completion but the latest information Express Sport have is that a fee is still yet to have been formally agreed between Arsenal and Ajax.
Dutch reports claimed there was a verbal agreement for £40m and that Timber has been given permission to undergo a medical.
While that is likely to happen soon, that is not currently the case. Timber has already agreed personal terms and now the club are working on finalising an agreement which is still thought to be very close and could arrive soon.
