Tourists slammed after desperately queuing for sunbeds at Spanish holiday resort

A BRIT has filmed the scenes from around the pool on her holiday, as huge queues of people lined up to get the best sunbeds.

Some resorts become the scenes of battle grounds during the summer months with guests getting up early to make sure they’re first to get their towels down on the sun loungers.

This year has been no different, with people at popular holiday destinations already seen fighting it out to reserve sunbeds as early as 6am in some cases.

One such holidaymaker was Tiktoker Amy Goodwin (@fat_yorkshire_lass) who filmed the morning rush at her holiday resort in Spain last month as she lined up to get a good spot.

In two separate videos, the footage showed people lining up in the hotel’s foyer before the doors were opened, allowing them to go to the poolside.

The guests are then seen streaming out with their towels to make sure they reserved their favourite lounger next to the pool.

The two videos have racked up more than 6,000 views combined, with people slamming English tourists in the comments.

One wrote: “What a lovely relaxing holiday, stupid English at its finest.”

Another added: “What a holiday, that’s why I don’t go where the English go.”

Arguments over which nations are the worst offenders have been ongoing for years, with German and French people also in the firing line.

A video, shared on Tiktok by user Daxi last year fuelled the debate.

A German commenter wrote: “I’m German and live in the U.K. On my last holiday to Greece it was the English that had the towels out before 6 am.”

Meanwhile, someone else said it was French holidaymakers who were the biggest hoggers, writing: “The French were up at 5am on my holiday I couldn’t believe my eyes.”

But one Brit admitted that we are just as bad as anyone else when it comes to sunbed hogging.

They said: “I’m at an English hotel in Spain and can confirm it’s us Brits. Lots of towels and no Germans.”

However, Brits have been singled out for their sunbed hogging already this summer, with Tiktok user Lisa Green claiming her holiday was ruined when UK guests arrived at her hotel.

In a video, the furious holidaymaker described how Brits took all the fun out of her holiday with their daily dash to claim a sun lounger.

She said: “7.30am sunbeds reserved, this goes on for a week.

“It’s the Brits who are the crazy sunbed hoggers.”

Meanwhile, holidaymakers were filmed queuing up for sunbeds before 8am at a resort in Spain.

And a mum was left furious after a sunbed war ended with a stranger stealing her child’s lounger.
