Tottenham stars ‘unhappy’ at senior management behaviour as internal tension ramps up

Tottenham players are reportedly not pleased at club chiefs because senior staff are involved in the dugout throughout matches.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are top of the Premier League after three consecutive 1-0 wins.

Beating holders Manchester City on the opening day ensured that rivals are still aware of the punch they possess.

And, having replicated the result against Wolves and Watford, the Lilywhites are the only team to have a 100 per cent record.

However, despite their strong start, it remains to be seen how long the run will continue – especially as the players start to turn against certain club chiefs.

Managing director Fabio Paratici and performance director Steve Hitchen both have seats in the Spurs’ dugout, alongside the players and coaching staff.

“It just doesn’t sit right with the players,” they claimed.

“The substitutes on the bench don’t feel they are able to speak freely among themselves with those guys sitting next to them.

“The players as a whole don’t like it when the two of them are on their feet shouting at the match officials or the team.”

Paratici and Hitchen have taken seats in the dugout instead of in the stands because of new coronavirus rules which requires those in the ‘red zone’ testing pool to be sat together.

Team morale is at a high at the moment following Spurs strong start.

Emerson Royal was added to their ranks in a £26million transfer deadline day move from Barcelona.

And, with Harry Kane returning from his transfer saga, Spurs are looking as strong as ever under Portuguese Nuno.

The Lilywhites look to continue their strong spell of form with an away tie against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
