Tottenham star Hojbjerg rushes to aid of collapsed man months after Eriksen’s scare
Tottenham have been through a turbulent few days, both on and off the pitch, with Nuno Espirito Santo swiftly being replaced by Antonio Conte in the dugout. Defeat to Manchester United proved to be the last straw, and while figures behind the scenes were busy in the aftermath, midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was allegedly on hand to assist in a medical emergency outside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
It would have been a sombre drive home for Hojbjerg, who gave a downbeat interview after United ran away 3-0 winners on Saturday.
After Marcus Rashford scored the third goal, even sporting director Fabio Paratici had seen enough as he reportedly stormed out of his seat.
Two days later, Nuno was given his marching orders as the club immediately turned their attention towards appointing Conte.
His return to the Premier League was confirmed on Tuesday to the delight of the Spurs faithful.

Furthermore, it comes a matter of months after Hojbjerg witnessed his Denmark team-mate Christian Eriksen shockingly collapse on the pitch at Euro 2020.
Spurs’ 26-year-old played the full 90 minutes against United on Saturday, suggesting he may be rested as the north London side host Vitesse Arnhem in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday.
With a tie against Everton preceding the international break, Tottenham’s stars will be eager to make an early impression on Conte to avoid losing their spot in the side.
The Italian is also believed to have sought assurances regarding investment in the squad, so a number of players could be at risk come January.
“I can’t wait to start working to convey to the team and the fans the passion, mentality and determination that have always distinguished me, as a player and as a coach,” said Conte.
“Last summer our union did not happen because the end of my relationship with Inter was still too recent and emotionally too involved with the end of the season, so I felt that it wasn’t yet the right time to return to coaching.
“But the contagious enthusiasm and determination of Daniel Levy in wanting to entrust me with this task had already hit the mark.
“Now that the opportunity has returned, I have chosen to take it with great conviction.”
