Furthermore, it comes a matter of months after Hojbjerg witnessed his Denmark team-mate Christian Eriksen shockingly collapse on the pitch at Euro 2020.
Spurs’ 26-year-old played the full 90 minutes against United on Saturday, suggesting he may be rested as the north London side host Vitesse Arnhem in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday.
With a tie against Everton preceding the international break, Tottenham’s stars will be eager to make an early impression on Conte to avoid losing their spot in the side.
The Italian is also believed to have sought assurances regarding investment in the squad, so a number of players could be at risk come January.
