Tom Taylor Teases a Major DC Announcement Is Imminent

Tom Taylor teases that a new comic made with a “dream artist” in secret for two years will be announced this week, leaving a cryptic hashtag to keep fans guessing.

Tom Taylor has teased that a major comic is inbound from the writer.

Taylor posted the teaser on Twitter, saying that he has been working on the comic for two years in secret and that it has given him the opportunity to work with a “dream artist” of his. The writer teased that the announcement would be arriving this week, closing with the cryptic hashtag “DCDKOS.”

Is is unclear what the book could be about or what the hashtag means. The hashtag opens with DC, which implies that the comic will be from DC Comics, but nothing confirms this assumption. Taylor has an upcoming Marvel project this fall with Dark Ages, so it cannot be ruled out that this comic could be from another publisher.

DC Comics is Tom Taylor’s wheelhouse these days though. The writer is responsible for the current ongoing Nightwing and Superman: Son of Kal-El series, as well as the limited Batman: The Detective series, which still has two issues left to release. Not to mention, Taylor has written a plethora of stories for the publisher in recent years.

Taylor penned titles for the popular world of DCeased, writing not only the main title, but spin-offs with DCeased: Unkillables and DCeased: Hope at World’s End, as well as the sequel DCeased: Dead Planet, which ended with some loose ends to tie up in the future. Tayor has also written many books set in the Injustice universe, based on the two fighting games released from NetherRealm Studios.

When asked by a fan if it was another DCeased sequel, Taylor denied that it was another tale in the superhero/zombie saga, claiming the secret title to be of a grander scale. “No. It could be bigger than #DCeased,” he said.

Another fan commented on the teaser post asking that Taylor not torture fans with a series of teasers to ponder, questioning what the big reveal will be. With devilish humor, Taylor responded with, “But… but… it’s fun.” The announcement is expected to drop this week regarding what the new book could be, as well as who the “dream artist” Taylor has been working with for the last two years is.
