Tom Fletcher’s wife Giovanna suffers excruciating injury on stage ‘I heard the crunch!’

Former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! winner Giovanna Fletcher, 36, says she is “devastated” that she has to take a break from her run in West End show, 2:22 A Ghost Story today. Tom Fletcher’s wife sustained a crippling injury to her ankle mid-show.

Giovanna, who is married to Strictly Come Dancing star Tom, replaced singer Lily Allen in the play and had previously said she was “thrilled” to have landed the role.

Now, she has informed fans that she won’t be appearing on stage for an indefinite period of time, so she can let her ankle heal.

This morning, she shared photos of her severely bruised ankle on Instagram and another showcasing her heavy-duty leg brace.

She told her two million followers: “Not quite how I imagined ending 2021 and starting the 2022, but there we go.

Author Adele Parks penned: “I am so sorry. I hope you mend soon.”

And Frankie Bridge simply said: “Noooooo.”(sic)

Giovanna’s husband Tom also shared a photograph of his wife’s bruised foot with the caption: “Ouch!”

The 36-year-old had been excited to take on the hit show’s second leg at the Gielgud Theatre in London’s West End.

Giovanna replaced Lily as the lead, Jenny, a woman who believes her home is haunted and notices strange goings-on each night at exactly 2:22am.

When announcing her new role, Giovanna said on Instagram it was a “dream” to have been “passed over the baton”.

Once recovered, she is set to perform until February 12.
