Tom Brady is apparently getting close to becoming an NFL owner.
The future Hall of Fame quarterback, who hung up his cleats “for good” on Feb. 1, has agreed to a deal with Raiders owner Mark Davis to purchase a minority share of the Las Vegas team, according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer — who reported the agreement has been submitted to the NFL for approval.
In order for the deal to be official, it must be voted on and approved by at least 24 of the league’s other owners.
Although the vote won’t be done at the NFL spring meeting — taking place this week (May 22-24) in Minneapolis — the “ball is rolling on it,” according to Breer.
If the deal gets done, Brady will reportedly not have a say in the team’s business or football affairs.
Separately, Brady announced in March that he acquired an ownership stake in the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces, also owned by Davis.
“Since I purchased the Aces, our goal has been to win on and off the court,” Davis said at the time. “Tom Brady is a win not only for the Aces, and the WNBA, but for women’s professional sports as a whole.”
Brady was linked to the Raiders at the end of last season, his third campaign with the Buccaneers, when he was would have hit the free agent market.
The former quarterback, who was also linked to multiple teams, put an end to speculation about his playing future in an emotional farewell video on social media.
It came a few months after Brady and his ex-wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, revealed in October 2022 that they had finalized their divorce after 13 years of marriage.
A month prior, UFC president Dana White claimed that he helped negotiate a deal to bring Brady and Rob Gronkowski to Las Vegas in 2020 — but former Raiders coach Jon Gruden nixed it.
“I worked to put that deal together for Brady and Gronk to come to the Raiders,” White said during ESPN’s “UFC 278 with the Gronks” broadcast in August 2022. “It was almost a done deal. And at the last minute, [Jon] Gruden blew the deal up and said that he didn’t want him and all hell broke loose, man. It was crazy.
“And Brady was already looking at houses. It wasn’t said yet that Gronk was going to be coming. So Las Vegas would have had Brady and Gronk the year that the Bucs won the Super Bowl except Gruden blew the deal up.”
In January 2020, Davis and Brady were seen talking and laughing together while at UFC 246 in Las Vegas.
Gruden resigned in October 2021 after an explosive New York Times report revealed he had used homophobic and misogynistic language in emails over a seven-year period ending in 2018.
The coach previously signed a 10-year deal to coach Las Vegas in 2018.
Brady’s former offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in New England, Josh McDaniels was hired as head coach of the Raiders in January 2022 but that didn’t entice Brady give it a go in Las Vegas.
Instead Brady, who turns 46 in August, called it a career following 23 seasons in the league and seven Super Bowl titles.
In an interview with Vanity Fair for her April 2023 cover story, Bündchen implied that she and Brady gradually drifted apart before he came out of retirement in March 2022, and that the pair are on good terms.
Brady has yet to address his ex-wife’s interview directly.
They have two children together: daughter Vivian, 10, and 13-year-old son Benjamin.
He also has a 15-year-old son, Jack, with his ex, actress Bridget Moynahan.
Brady spent 20 seasons with New England — winning six Super Bowls — before he signed with the Buccaneers in March 2020, and won another Super Bowl that season.
Elsewhere, Brady seems to be focused on his businesses, which includes performance lifestyle brand, TB12, and his 199 Productions company.
Brady also purchased a Major League Pickleball team alongside tennis Hall of Famer Kim Clijsters prior to the start of the 2023 MLP season.
He will join Fox Sports as its lead analyst, calling the NFL’s biggest games sometime in 2024.
The Post’s Andrew Marchand reported that Brady signed a 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox Sports in May 2022.
Brady currently resides in Florida, but he also has real estate in Los Angeles, where his production company and other business ventures are located.
