The free event features 70 vendors, professional kite flyers (yes, that’s a thing), a kids zone with inflatables and face painting and, of course, kites for sale. Save money, bring your own! 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, April 16, at Stenger Sports Complex, 11200 W. 58th Ave. Free and all ages. arvadafestivals.com

Also this weekend: Toy-design legend Muriel Juneberry Fahrion will head up Sunday’s Toy & Doll Supershow in Northglenn, having last visited Colorado for Denver Retro Con. Fahrion created the first designs for Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake, and worked on lots of other iconic art and entertainment for Disney, Fischer Price and others.

11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, April 16 at the Delta Hotel Convention Center, 10 E. 120th Ave. in Northglenn, just east of I-25. Tickets: $8 for adults, children under 12 are free; $12 for early-bird tickets (10 a.m. admission). 303-347-8252 or tdsupershow.com
