NEW DELHI: Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu has begun the TNEA Counselling 2023 for candidates who wish to take admission into engineering courses. According to the revised schedule, Round 1 general counselling of the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions 2023 will be done for those students who have obtained the required ranks.

The last date to register for general counselling (online) is September 3, 2023. Online general counselling is being conducted for Academic, Government School 7.5% Category and Vocational students. Eligible candidates can check the schedule for TNEA Round 1 counselling below here or on the official website at tneaonline.org.
TNEA 2023 Counselling Schedule

A total of 7,451 engineering seats have been added to the pool for the first round of general counselling (academic and vocational streams). In this process, candidates under the 7.5% preferential reservation category from government schools will also participate.
A total of 22,761 candidates who scored aggregate marks ranging from 200 to 177 are going to participate in the round 1 counselling. Among them, 1,704 candidates belong to the preferential reservation category, and 2,215 candidates are part of the vocational stream category.
The TNEA Committee completed the online counselling for special reservation categories on July 27. These categories included sportspersons, persons with disabilities, and wards of ex-servicemen with 685 seats allotted under different categories.
Out of the 462 seats available in the sports category, 385 were successfully allocated to candidates. Interestingly, even though 2,204 candidates were eligible in the sports category, only 1,635 of them actually participated in the counselling process.
