TikToker shows genius way to open wine bottle without a corkscrew

There is no worse feeling than buying a bottle of wine and realising you have no corkscrew.

It is the greatest hit of disappointment – so close, yet so far.

And short of employing a technique that involves a shoe and banging it against the wall, there’s not a lot to be done.

But thankfully, where there is a will for wine, there is a way. And now one creator on TikTok has shared a simple way to pull a cork out of a bottle.

User @ty.ree.suh shared her method with followers and all you need is a knife and fork.

Bear in mind that you need to be careful, so do this before any other wine or beverages have been consumed, okay?

First, you must insert the knife into the cork, as far as you can push it. Then, hook the fork around the flat of the knife. This will act as your lever.

Next, in careful motions, use the fork to rotate the cork and pull it up as you go. By this point there should be enough friction to pull the cork out.

However, it is also important to note that if the cork has aged, the cork will deteriorate and break apart.

And, those in the comments were seriously impressed.

‘This is the best life hack I have ever seen,’ one user wrote.

‘I needed this three months ago,’ added a second viewer.

While another joked: ‘TikTok university wins again.’
