TikTok blow dry hack shows how to achieve ‘flicky’ curls in minutes
Thanks to TikTok, we all know considerably more hair and beauty tricks.
Whether it’s how to curl our hair with a dressing gown robe (or a bowl), or how to nail winged eyeliner.
But now a new five-minute hack hair is doing the rounds, showing how to achieve a ‘flicky’ professional-looking blow out.
And it doesn’t require any specialist beauty tools, like a Dyson Airwrap. In fact, all you need is a hairdryer.
The video has been shared by TikTok user @yazblends – who is a hairstylist herself.
It was posted just three days ago and has already been viewed more than six million times.
The technique involves twisting hair then applying heat and letting it set – for a gorgeous blow dry that can be either a day or night look.
As seen in her video, Yaz’s method involves splitting the hair into two sections and twisting it away from the face.
Afterwards, she runs the hairdryer over the twists and lets them set for 1-2 minutes.
Following this, she untwists the hair and runs her fingers through it to release the flicks.
The result is gorgeous movement that looks like you’ve stepped straight out of the salon.
Of course, it goes without saying it’s a good idea to apply some heat protection before doing this – to keep your hair as healthy as possible.
Yaz adds that it’s good to do this hack when hair is already dry and the hairdryer also needs to be on a hot setting.
Naturally, beauty lovers have been blown away by the simple-yet-effective hack.
One person replied: ‘I’ve been wasting so much time curling with a round brush.’
‘Wow, this looks similar to the Dyson Airwrap but doesn’t cost $600,’ adds someone else.
While others have backed up the tried and tested trick.
Another wrote: ‘I do this when I get lazy, to blow dry my hair.’
‘I do this all the time! I get my hair a little damp to hold the curls,’ someone else chipped in.
