Three key Crystal Palace stars linked with a move away this summer
Augsburg’s Ricardo Pepi is a name that’s been mentioned frequently in recent weeks, along with Celtic’s Liel Abada and Brazilian starlet Matheus Franca.
But among all of the excitement for potential new arrivals, there is always the possibility that some of the current stars could favour a move elsewhere.
Below are three Palace players that have been linked with a move away this summer, and how the squad would take shape without them.
Marc Guehi
Recently, the Palace defender has been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park, that would see the former Chelsea centre back swap south London for north London.
Guehi has been linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham in recent days, with the defender rumoured to be valued at £60 million.
Arsenal may be in the market for a centre back this summer, with Rob Holding’s contract expiring in 2024, and Jakub Kiwior being the only other centre back available to cover William Saliba or Gabriel Magalhaes.
If Guehi were to join Arsenal he probably wouldn’t nail down a starting position straight away, which will be something to consider for the 22-year-old, if he decides to make the switch to the red side of North London.
At Spurs, there will be a much greater chance of Guehi getting into the starting line-up consistently.

The poor form of the Spurs backline of Christian Romero, Eric Dier and Clement Lenglet means that no position is safe, and Guehi will certainly fancy his chances of being a starter in the Spurs squad.
Chelsea are also rumoured to be interested in Guehi. The Blues could make a swoop to bring Guehi back to Stamford Bridge after selling him to Palace for £18 million in 2021.
Although an unlikely transfer with the amount of defenders Chelsea already have, you can’t rule anything out with Chelsea during the transfer window.
For Palace, Guehi has to stay. Palace’s new manager will be looking at Guehi as one of the pieces to build the rest of the squad around, as he’s been one of the Eagles’ outstanding players this season.
If he were to leave, Palace would almost certainly have to be in the market for a centre back this summer, with Chris Richards and James Tomkins being the only other options for the Eagles.
Guehi signed a five-year deal at Palace when he joined in the summer of 2021, so the club will be under no pressure to sell the Englishman, even if he wants to go.
Michael Olise
Olise is another Palace star who has been linked with a move to Arsenal for the upcoming transfer window.
The Gunners have been rumoured to be interested in a winger, to provide competition for Saka on Arsenal’s right-hand side, and Olise might be the player to do it.
The 21-year-old recorded his ninth assist of the season at the weekend, which made him the youngest player to record nine or more assists in the Premier League since Trent Alexander-Arnold did it in 2018/19.
Roy Hodgson has said he would be worried if he was Palace chairman Steve Parish, due to the number of clubs that are going to be interested in Olise.
The Frenchman has appeared in 33 games for Palace this season, and has proved to be a key player in the team’s recent good run of form.
Olise is one of the few players that Palace can’t afford to lose. He has shown great promise throughout the course of the whole season, and has 11 goal contributions to show that.
Like Guehi, Olise’s contract runs until 2026, so Palace will be under no pressure to sell their star winger, but if they were to lose him, there would be a big hole in the team that would need filling.
Wilfred Zaha
As time goes by it feels increasingly likely that Palace will lose Zaha for free when his contract expires at the end of this season.
Zaha will go down as one of Palace’s greatest ever players, despite handing in numerous transfer requests over the years.
But this time around, there is a good chance Zaha will actually move away from Selhurst Park.
Crystal Palace are said to have offered Zaha a new deal that would make him the highest paid player in the club’s history, earning over £180,000 per week, which is a £60,000 increase on his current deal.
The Ivorian international has said that he will make the decision on his future at the end of the season.
There are many clubs all over the world rumoured interested in Zaha, ranging from Arsenal (again) to Marseille in France.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that there are eight or nine clubs interested in Zaha, should he not sign a new deal with Palace at the end of the season.
Palace were already rumoured to be interested in a winger, as a back-up to Olise, but should they lose their star man, they will have a big void to fill on the left wing.
Zaha has been the Eagles’ top scorer for the past two seasons and is only one goal behind Eze this term, even though he missed part of the season with an injury.
