Threads may launch web version of the app soon – Times of India

It has been more than a month now since Instagram’s answer to Twitter (at least that’s what it was called then) arrived. Called Threads, the app got off to a flying start but has now hit a bit of a lull in terms of daily users and time spent on the app. However, it looks like a web version of the app is set to arrive soon. According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, a web app of Threads could arrive as early as this week.
Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, last week mentioned that the web version remains a bit buggy. “It’s a little bit buggy right now, you don’t want it just yet. As soon as it is ready we will share it with everybody else.”
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO, Meta had earlier confirmed that the web app is in works. Zuckerberg had signalled that Meta was working on improving the search functionality of the app.
Meanwhile, Mosseri recently revealed two new features for the app, a Reposts tab and a reverse chronological feed, both based on user feedback. The Reposts tab enables users to see all the threads reposted, while the chronological feed displays all the reposts. Currently, daily average time spent on Threads is just 2.9 minutes, with 2.6 sessions per day.
After quite a smashing start, Threads has hit an all-time low as the number of users getting on the app has been rapidly declining. However, that is acting as not a deterrent for the Meta-owned app to roll out new features. Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, announced two new features for Threads in a post on the social media platform.
“Two small updates for Threads that are worth mentioning: we’re rolling out a new Reposts tab on your profile so you can see all the threads you reposted in one place. We are also, based on your feedback, adding reposts to your Following Feed,” he said in the post.
