Thousands of Freeview TV viewers receive free upgrade tomorrow – check box now
THOUSANDS of Freeview viewers with a popular set-top box will finally receive access to a long-requested free streaming service.
For months, two pieces of kit have been left with the old ITV Hub service.
But from tomorrow an update will be available granting viewers with ITVX.
ITVX launched at the end of 2022 as a replacement for ITV Hub, with loads more exclusive content.
This includes series such as Tom Jones, Nolly and Litvinenko.
It’s free – but you can pay £5.99 a month to remove the ads.
If you own a Manhattan T3 or Manhattan T3-R box, you’re in luck.
The streaming service should be available automatically on your home screen on Thursday.
As long as your box is connected to the internet and left on standby overnight, it’ll download by itself.
If you have automatic updates switched off, you’ll need to go into the settings and change it to benefit from ITVX.
Or you can force it through manually.
Go to Settings, then System.
Select Software Updates, followed by Check for update now.
ITVX has been gradually appearing on more and more platforms.
Sky Q customers had to wait until February to get the app on their sets.
