Thomas Tuchel reacts to West Ham’s £30m bid for Chelsea star Armando Broja
Broja was sent out on loan to Southampton last season to further his development and he showed promising flashes, scoring nine goals across all competitions.
The 20-year-old was initially left out of the Chelsea squad which flew to the USA for their pre-season tour amid uncertainty over his future.
But Broja has now linked up with the rest of his teammates in the USA ahead of friendlies against Club America, Charlotte FC, and Arsenal.
Reports claim West Ham have offered the Blues £25m plus £5m in add-ons for the Albania international.
However, Tuchel has revealed the club currently have ‘no interest’ in letting the Chelsea academy graduate leave.
‘Armando is our player first of all and we have, at the moment, no interest in selling him,’ Tuchel told reporters.
‘He is here to make an impression after he was on loan in Southampton. That’s his situation from where we look up front. It’s good if there’s interest as it shows us there’s talent and potential.
‘It shows us that Armando is in the position to impress and become a Chelsea player.
‘When will he become a Chelsea player? Nobody knows but hopefully as soon as possible.
Broja has, however, picked up a knock in training which will delay the striker’s opportunity to impress the manager.
‘He got injured and there’s a delay for him, which is never nice because a young player should normally make an impression from the first minute in pre-season,’ Tuchel added.
‘Now we have a bit of a delay in that but that’s the situation.’
