This is when OnePlus may launch its first foldable phone
Foldable phones are probably the next big thing in the smartphone industry. Brands like Samsung, Google, Motorola, Oppo and Tecno have already launched at least one foldable phone. Soon, there will be a new entrant in the segment – OnePlus.
If a report is to be believed, the company is gearing up to launch its first foldable device as soon as August this year. According to a report by Pricebaba, OnePlus’s foldable phone will be called OnePlus Fold. It says that the company will launch OnePlus Fold around the first half of August in New York.
It further states that OnePlus Fold will be rolled out globally in various countries including India. It is rumoured that Oppo may debut the Find N3 foldable in China around August. The handset may launch as OnePlus Fold in markets outside China.
OnePlus Fold: Expected features
According to reports, the OnePlus Fold is said to come with an 8-inch QHD+ OLED main screen and a 6.5-inch cover OLED panel with FHD+ resolution. The display may offer a refresh rate of y120Hz.
For performance, the smartphone is expected to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with Adreno GPU graphics. The OnePlus Fold may is tipped to pack 16GB LPDDR5 RAM coupled with 512GB UFS 4.0 internal storage.
The handset may run on the company’s own OxygenOS 13.1 custom skin with a layer of Android 13 on the top. As far as the battery is concerned, the device is said to pack a 4,800mAh battery. It is rumoured to offer 80watt charging support.
As far the camera is concerned, OnePlus Fold is tipped to have a triple camera sensor on the rear. The setup may consist of a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 48MP ultra-wide angle camera and a 32MP periscope camera. For selfies, the smartphone may have a 32MP camera at the front.
