This foot peel mask has got people shedding dead skin like crazy
After months of hibernation, it’s nearly time to get those feet out, with this foot peel mask going wildly viral from impressed (and slightly grossed out) users keen to get their trotters ready.
Let’s be honest, most of us tend to forget about our feet until summer’s well and truly here but come May they’re usually in need of a serious pick-me-up.
The first thing to tackle, before you start thinking about what pretty shade to use on your toes, is dry and cracked skin.
If you’re looking for an at-home, effective solution, we put our feet on the line and tried the Foot Peel Mask from Plantifique. Yes, you know the one.
Our own reviewer plus many, many more said the mask left their feet as soft as a baby.
The process is a little gross (but also quite satisfying) as your skin will shed – often over a number of days – but the general consensus is it’s worth it for the transformation.
If you share a bed you might want to wear socks at night, however (as a few reviewers recommend), so your significant other is spared sleeping with bits of your feet!
One delighted customer wrote on Amazon: ‘I’m extremely happy with it. I left it on overnight and couple of days later, my feet began to completely shed.
My feet feel like they’ve been reborn and [are] baby soft.’
Another said the mask ‘worked miracles’, adding: ‘Most of the worst hard skin on my heels and toes is gone and there are no cracks, I couldn’t be happier.’
A third called the product a ‘game-changer’ and wrote: ‘Don’t spend 40 quid in a salon, this is just as good as or maybe even better.’
While a fourth enthused: ‘Well, this really works! Loads of quite thick skin came off in large strips, a few days later. Having a bath every night helps. I would recommend putting some thick socks or slippers on top of the bootees.’
The mask, which comes in sock form, should be worn for at least an hour before washing off. It contains a mix of salicylic and lactic acids to exfoliate and avocado extract to increase collagen production. There’s also a strict foot-soaking regime you must adhere to for optimum results.
Several reviewers recommend soaking your feet regularly to help the exfoliating process. And, remember, it’s best to let the skin come off naturally, as pulling at it can result in fresh skin coming off.
Luckily Plantifique has a video with instructions and tips you can check out if needed.
