This £4.50 duster from Scrub Daddy is a massive hit with busy mums

When Scrub Daddy appeared on Shark Tank (the US version of Dragon’s Den) in 2021, the deceptively simple cleaning tool took the world by storm.

The success of the smiley-faced sponge sparked related products like the Scrub Mommy and the Daddy Caddy – and there’s now a duster in the family too.

The Scrub Daddy Damp Duster was released earlier this year in the UK and, like the brand’s previous launches, was a massive hit with cleanfluencers including Mrs Hinch.

Unlike fluffy dusters, this sponge is designed to be used wet and comes pre-moistened in the packaging when you buy. The rippled material holds onto dust as you wipe, ready to be rinsed off and used again.

The Damp Duster requires no chemicals and traps dirt without spreading it, making it perfect for allergy sufferers.

At less than £4.50 on Amazon it’s an affordable solution, and can be used on blinds, vents, skirting boards, mirrors, railings, and anywhere else you need to banish dust from.

On her cleaning-focused TikTok, @homewithchloex recently shared a video detailing why she loves the product.

The mum demonstrates her fuss-free cleaning routine with the Damp Duster, calling it the ‘best of the best’ in the caption.

US-based content creator Vanesa Amaro also sung its praises in a video where she described it as ‘life changing’ as saying people should ‘run’ to get their hands on one.

Another cleaning expert and busy mum, Kayleigh Taylor, added to the hype with a tutorial on how to use the Damp Duster to clean your bed’s headboard, an area of the home that’s often overlooked and can harbour dirt.

Despite the fact that Kayleigh’s velvet headboard looks clean, a few swipes of the Scrub Daddy product reveals the secret grime hidden within the fibres – all without any scrubbing.

The Damp Duster is available in four colours – yellow, grey, pink, and blue – which many use to colour-code their cleaning, keeping certain shades for dirtier jobs (blue for the loo, for example).

Not only does it make light work of dust, it’s scratch-resistant and moulds to fit into the hard-to-reach areas in your home.

Aside from it doing the cleaning by itself, what more could you want from a cleaning tool?
