Things to do this weekend in Denver: Experience “Friends,” sip a Hogshead cask ale, and visit with Frank Lloyd Wright

Dive into Hogshead’s Cask Fest

Saturday. Fans of English-style cask ales don’t have a lot of places to go for a pint in Colorado, despite the beer’s popularity around the world. In fact, only a very few breweries produce cask ales, which are naturally carbonated in casks and then typically served at warmer temperatures than most beers – and most bars aren’t equipped to serve it.

That’s why Saturday’s Cask Fest at Hogshead Brewery is so special. Not only will Hogshead, which is owned by a British ex-pat, have its own creamy cask ales pouring from the beer engines, but there will be be selections from the brewery’s friends, including Westbound & Down Brewing, Comrade Brewing, Liquid Mechanics, Cannonball Creek, Strange Craft, Call to Arms and Bierstadt Lagerhaus.

It takes place 2-10 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, at Hogshead Brewery, 4460 W. 29th Ave. in Denver. Tickets are $50 on eventbrite.com and include beer, a 10ounce logo glass to keep and grilled bratwurst with all the works. bit.ly/3NSDmX8

The one where “Friends” gets immersive

Through Sept. 5. Fans of the ’90s NBC sitcom “Friends” can tap into a faux-NYC coffee shop vibe this week when they cram themselves onto the iconic orange couch, splash (figuratively) in the opening-credits fountain, and 10 other self-friendly, officially licensed rooms in Denver.

The pop-up was created to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary in 2019 and proved so buzzworthy it’s since traveled to New York City, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas and Phoenix, The Denver Post’s Tiney Ricciardi reported.
