These pimple patches are here to zap your zits and look cute while doing it

Ah pimples. They always know how to turn up just before that important interview or first date.

Then you desperately try and tackle them through various means (we see you – popping, picking, toothpaste…), usually making it all worse in the process.

Although sadly there’s no magical solution to make spots instantly disappear altogether there are ways to tone down the redness and make them heal faster, with these smileyface pimple patches working their way up our preference list if we look this cute while wearing them.

The little plaster-like circles aim to act as a barrier between a spot and a spot’s number one frenemy, bacteria. This is particularly useful while you’re sleeping and your face is touching the pillow.

And these ones in particular, from cute-as-a-button skincare brand Restored, contain hydrocolloid, a material used in dressings, to draw bacteria from the pimple to the surface and absorb fluid, helping the healing process move along.

Restored was founded by model Katie Louise Grant, who suffered from spots herself and couldn’t find an over-the-counter treatment that worked for her.

The pimple patches – which cost £9 a pack – sold out 72 hours after launching, which is pretty impressive. There’s also free UK shipping on all orders over £10…just sayin’.

Unlike most patches, which tend to come in clear, these all have colourful smiley faces on them, which we’re really into.

And it seems we’re not the only ones – lots of people have been posting photos of themselves wearing the patches on Instagram, showing that you can have a bit of fun with spots, instead of letting them ruin your day.

The reviews are in, too, and according to one happy shopper the patches helped rid them of smaller spots overnight.

They wrote: ‘Love that the acne patches have cute smiley faces on them, used them a few times and although they haven’t gotten rid of my big spots (we can’t expect miracles!), my smaller spots almost disappeared overnight with them…’

The brand also offer a Face Oil, the product that launched the company.

It contains a blend of light-weight non-comedogenic oils suitable for acne-prone skin.

And, again, reviews are wildly positive, with people musing on how it helped combat spots.

‘It’s lovely to use and I can see a huge improvement already in skin tone,’ one fan wrote on Trustpilot.

Another added: ‘I’ve been using this product for some time now and what a difference it’s made to my skin, it’s light and absorbs in to my skin perfectly I use daily and would not be without it now.’

Alright, we need this brand on speed dial.
