‘These hips don’t lie’: Eli Manning hilariously recreates Dak Prescott’s viral dance on ‘MNF’

ESPN’s ManningCast of “Monday Night Football” has now thrust its way into the world of dance, thanks to Dak Prescott and Eli Manning.

Midway through the first quarter of Monday’s game between the Cowboys and Eagles, ESPN2 showed a brief clip of Prescott’s viral pregame hip exercise set to salsa music. Peyton Manning was quick to say he didn’t understand it — he wasn’t much of a runner in the NFL, after all — but his younger brother was happy to explain it first-hand.

“It’s that Tom House stuff,” Eli Manning said. “Here, I’ll show you, Peyton: It’s all about creating torque.”

Credit to Eli Manning not only for his baseball knowledge, bringing up former MLB pitcher and coach Tom House in his explanation, but also for his knowledge of Shakira — e.g., “These hips don’t lie.”

Peyton Manning, never one to pass up an opportunity to make fun of his little brother, later quipped, “I’m going with Dak. He’s got much more torque. Your medium boys jeans are really kind of keeping you from getting turned.”

It was another classic ManningCast moment, and many were quick to point out Manning’s relationship with former teammate Victor Cruz, who was known to break out a salsa dance on big plays.

In fact, the Giants’ Twitter account recently teased how Cruz’s salsa victory dance was born:

Regardless of whether the “MNF” salsa dance was actually impromptu, it was another made-for-TV moment between the Manning brothers.
