There may be no Exynos model of Samsung Galaxy S22 series: Report – Times of India

Samsung Galaxy S22 series may debut in February next year. The series may consist of Samsung Galaxy S22, Samsung Galaxy S22+ and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. The smartphones are said to come with major design changes including the support for S-Pen.
Now, a new report suggests that the company may introduce a single model of the phone with a Qualcomm chipset. Usually, Samsung brings two separate models of the Galaxy S series phones. One is powered by a Qualcomm processor and is exclusive to the US market, another variant runs on Exynos processor. The latter is for other global markets.
According to leakster Super Roader, Samsung may equip Galaxy S22 with Qualcomm chipsets only. Rumours have it that the upcoming series may come powered by the yet-to-launch Snapdragon 898 chipset. Ongoing global chip shortage is the possible reason behind the speculated change.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 is expected to be announced at the upcoming Snapdragon Tech Summit. The chip is rumored to be built on a 4nm process and is expected to offer significant improvements in performance compared to the Snapdragon 888.
