The world’s first convertible motorhome costs £200,000 and has two floors
WHEN it comes to motoring, we Brits love two things: convertibles and motorhomes.
The caravan and motorhome scene is huge in Britain and we buy a hilarious number of open tops given the state of our weather.
But after what must’ve been a serious drinking session down the boozer, somebody came up with the idea to combine the two.
Skydancer is the company and the Apero is the name of its crazy creation – the world’s first convertible motorhome.

German firm Skydancer started with a concept built from a Mercedes truck in 2014 and took another five years to make a production model.
Today it has changed and you can buy what you see here built to order, but it’ll set you back up to £200,000 depending on which spec you go for.
The Apero starts life as a 3.5-tonne Fiat Ducato van chassis and is then transformed into a two-story luxury motorhome.
The driver an passengers sit at the top and the front section of the Apero’s roof slides back for the open-top experience.
Inside you’ll find everything you expect from a luxury motorhome; leather, wood, plus a large double downstairs at the back.
A second pull bed is found at the front and there’s also a proper kitchen and a decent bathroom on the lower floor.
But once you’ve parked up, the upstairs is the real showpiece.
The seating for four can be turned into a dining area by rotating chairs and folding out tables.
Whip the roof back and on a warm summer night, you can star gaze from the top deck.
