The Traitors becomes so much more brutal as Amos is murdered in plain sight

The Traitors well and truly turned up the heat when Amanda Lovett and Wilfred Webster were tasked with murdering in plain sight – but that’s exactly what they did.

In the thrilling new BBC gameshow hosted by Claudia Winkleman, 22 players are tasked with building up a prize pot of £120,000 and making it all the way to the end without being murdered by the Traitors.

But, it hasn’t exactly worked in the Faithfuls’ favour so far, as they’ve only managed to successfully identify and banish one Traitor – Alyssa Chan.

And things got a whole lot worse for the Faithfuls in Friday night’s episode, when Amos Ogunkoya received the ‘kiss of death’ at the party.

Unbeknownst to the London-based GP, when Amanda sweetly gave him a goodnight peck, she was actually sealing his fate.

She and fellow Traitor Wilfred decided that Amos, 30, was ‘probing’ too much and perhaps could be onto them, so decided to protect themselves by killing him off.

Emotions were running high at breakfast when Amos failed to walk through the door, with Kieran Tompsett especially tearful after rejoining the game with Amos as a latecomer.

After reading his death note, Amos was baffled as to who could’ve given the kiss of death, as he even told Amanda she was ‘great’ after they shared the moment together.

‘Amos, you have been murdered by The Traitors after receiving the kiss of death,’ he read.

‘The kiss of death… I didn’t think that’s how people were murdered. I have received a kiss, but I kiss everyone!’, he said.

‘Who kissed me?’, Amos asked, but it remains to be seen whether he actually sussed it out.

Reacting to the brutal killing, Twitter users had a lot to say.

‘You can see what kind of person Amos is by everyone’s reactions to him leaving’, one praised.

‘I’m sad Amos has gone he was one of my faves’, wrote another.

Another said they were ‘upset’ as they ‘really liked’ Amos, but others admitted his murder was likely the ‘sensible’ choice.

Plenty of viewers also picked up on the other players’ strong emotional reactions to Amos’ exit, with Andrea, 72, carrying around his portrait after Claudia gifted it to her.

‘They do know Amos isn’t actually dead?’, one asked.

‘Somebody should explain to Kieran that Amos hasn’t really been murdered!’, said another, after he had to head outside for air in floods of tears.

The Traitors is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
