The Super Mario Bros. Movie Expected To Dominate Box Office with 97% Audience score, Jack Black Pitches a Sequel

The Super Mario Bros. Movie could be rocking the box office in this coming week, as per recent reports. The movie, based on Nintendo’s popular video game franchise, stars Chris Pratt, Jack Black, and Anya Taylor-Joy in its star-studded cast.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie might earn over $200 million in its first week

The Hollywood Report says that Super Mario Bros. Movie is expected to earn $125 million or more domestically within 5 days. THR further reports that the movie will be grossing $200 million.

There are also reports that The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be a consistent hit and generate more performance in subsequent weeks, rather than being front-loaded.

“The Super Mario Bros. Movie has every chance of becoming the first blockbuster of 2023”, claimed THR who backs the movie due to Mario being on the most popular video game franchise of all time.

Currently, Super Mario Bros. Movie has a 97% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, further substantiating that fans are enjoying the movie and flocking to the theaters to see it.

Jack Black wants Bowser spin-off

When quizzed about Bowser’s future in a recent Screen Rant interview, Black said that he’d be up for a sequel or a spin-off just about Bowser.

He said, “It would be cool to have ‘Bowser’s Revenge’ or a spin-off that’s just ‘Bowser Town’. Like a whole planet of Browsers. But that’s not my job. I’m not the writer. I’ll do whatever direction they want to go. I’d love to do more.”

However, he referred to Kung Fu Panda and how the movie had different villains in each of those movies, so there’s no guarantee if Bowser will be in future movies. Black added, “If this is the only one, then I’m blessed and loved the experience.”

Super Mario Bros. Movie will be hitting theaters in India on April 7, 2023.
