The popular castle near London getting its own beach this summer
A CASTLE near London has opened its very own beach just in time for summer
Leeds Castle, in Kent, has launched The Beach, found near its maze and grotto.
The man-made sand has lots of sand for kids to play in, and overlooks the Great Water.
Even better, the beach is free for guests who book tickets for the castle.
And there are lots of events at the beach this summer.
The website says: “There is tons of sand to play and build your own Leeds Castle in, space to make new memories, and whilst we can’t bring the sea to the countryside, there is everything you need for a family day out.
“And if you are lucky, you might even catch some rays.
“Grab your bucket and spade, dig out your beach towel, and tuck into a mouth-watering ice cream, as you spend the day perched on deck chairs enjoying the views and even a sandy surprise or two.”
Also on site are two playgrounds and an obstacle course.
This includes Magic on the Beach with magician Nathan Jones, along with Music on the Beach with performances from the 1930s.
There will also be Sand Sculpture Workshops and Punch and Judy shows throughout August.
The beach is open until September 30.
Castle tickets start from £22.50 for kids and £30 for adults, although this gets you access for an entire year.
Previous guests have praised the castle, with thousands of 5* reviews on TripAdvisor.
One person wrote: “Loved the play castle and the new beach area.”
Someone else added: “Our favourite place for a day out, one visit just isn’t enough.”
